An original partnerhip for sustainable development since 2021

Object of the partnership

The aim is to raise awareness among residents, visitors and friends of Miallet of the challenges of sustainable development, including the preservation of the natural, architectural and cultural heritage of the town and the surrounding area. Initiated since 2021, this partnership is available through several operations.

1. The Miallet Lake avifauna

This first area of action is based on the creation of two very evocative statuary ensembles arranged in the village squares. It is a reminder that the Lac du Barrage de Miallet, like the nearby surrounding areas, is on a major axis of migration in Western Europe. The avifauna concerned includes many species that stay there for a stopover from one night to a few weeks or several months, or even sometimes settle more or less permanently for some of the species in question. By noticing the statues, the visitor will be sure to enjoy a moment of observation at the lake, especially if he has not forgotten to bring binoculars.

The two statuary sets are due to Roland Manain. The highly talented author-artist has already produced many sculptures that are easily noticed if you frequent Châlus or Saint Pierre de Frugie.
